FINANCE MANAGER


COMPANY INFORMATION:
Comhar Linn INTO Credit Union is a leading Irish credit union serving members in the education sector. We are one of the largest credit unions in Ireland with over 30,000 members and currently entering an exciting phase of growth, with two planned mergers that will increase our total assets from approximately €320m to €480m. This growth brings increased responsibility for our finance team and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of business insight, financial control, regulatory compliance and service quality as we scale.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager as we enter a period of significant growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the day to day running of the finance function, managing all key financial processes and outputs, ensuring accuracy, accountability and efficiency across the function. This role will act as support to the CFO for operational matters and have direct oversight and management responsibility of the finance team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Regulatory Reporting & Control: Work with the finance team on the production of all regulatory returns, financial reports and other critical finance deliverables and act as the primary senior reviewer before CFO sign-off.
• Month End Close Ownership: Own and manage the end-to-end month end close process, including planning, scheduling and coordination of tasks across the finance team to meet agreed deadlines. Oversee and contribute to preparation of monthly management accounts and related analysis, driving value for the organisation by identifying and communicating key insights in the results.
• Financial Calendar Management: Manage the annual financial and regulatory reporting calendar, proactively monitoring upcoming reporting deadlines to ensure delivery is on track.
• Play a leading role within the finance team, managing a team of finance professionals and providing mentorship, guidance and training to team members fostering a results driven environment where finance can add value by providing both support and challenge to the wider organisation
• Deputy to CFO & Strategic Support: Provide support to the CFO on all operational finance matters and have the ability to step in as needed, leading meetings and providing support to the CEO on routine matters in the absence of the CFO.


CANDIDATE PROFILE – EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with ideally a minimum of 5+ years PQE.
• Technical financial expertise in monthly close processes, including balance sheet control, financial and management reporting with a track record of implementing controls or efficiency improvements.
• Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment is desirable, but not essential.
• Strong excel skills and an ability to leverage systems and tools to enable delivery of insights.
• Proven leadership experience, ideally managing a finance team or via a significant project team is essential.
• Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation.
• Motivated by a deadline-driven environment with a strong control mindset and high attention to detail
• Able to challenge the status quo, implement change and genuinely excited by joining an organisation at a significant growth phase, understanding the opportunity that presents to create a best-in-class finance environment.
• Proactive, driven and self-motivated, with the ability to identify improvements and drive tasks to completion under own initiative.
• Strong communication skills and a strategic mindset with the ability to influence across the organisation
