Growing Your Nest Egg
To hope, to dream, to plan – there’s something powerful in simply beginning. It’s in that moment of putting pen to paper, or saying a goal out loud, that ideas start to feel real.
At the INTO Congress in April, we had the pleasure of spending three days with many of you, hearing first-hand about the goals and aspirations you’re working towards. With Easter colours everywhere and chatter all around, our presence centered on the Nest Egg. Giving you space to pause, reflect and write down your personal savings goals.
What might your future nest egg look like? By capturing these hopes on our pledge board, we were reminded of something we’ve always known: teachers are not only dedicated to shaping the future of their students, but also thoughtful about shaping their own.
The pledges were wide-ranging, but every one of them rang true. “Saving for a house,” “Saving for my family for when it grows and for retirement”, “Saving for all my mini breaks because life is short, buy the shoes, book the holiday”, “A trip around the world”, “Start building financial security”, and “happiness.” Each pledge mattered, no matter its size or the time it might take. Together, they painted a picture of a community that is practical, hopeful and always striving forward.
Now, six months on, it’s the perfect moment to check in with those promises. Have you been able to set a little aside each month? Maybe you’ve reached a small milestone already. Or perhaps challenges mean you need to rethink your approach. Wherever you are, progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful. Even the smallest step forward is a win worth celebrating.
At Comhar Linn, our role is to support you in making those goals a reality. Teachers often tell us that what they value most is not just the products we offer, but the understanding and care that come with them. We know the rhythm of a teacher’s life: the long days, lesson planning, the balancing act between work and family. That’s why our services are designed to fit seamlessly into your world, not the other way around.
Take deduction at source, for example. This feature allows you to save directly from your salary before it even reaches your account. For many members, it’s the easiest way to grow a nest egg without having to think twice. The same goes for using deduction at source against a loan; repayments are taken care of in the background, giving you one less thing to worry about. Our budget accounts are another favourite, helping you smooth out seasonal peaks and troughs so that unexpected expenses don’t throw you off course.
Beyond the practical tools, what makes the biggest difference is the personal touch. We listen, we care, we go the extra mile. You’re so much more than members - you’re partners we respect, neighbours we support, and friends we value. That real human bond makes financial wellness feel less like work and more like a path we’re walking together.”
Looking ahead, we encourage you to revisit your own pledge. Write it down again if you need to. Share it with someone who will cheer you on. Break it into smaller steps. And remember, your nest egg doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. It’s personal to you, built around your life and your priorities.
We left the INTO Congress inspired by your honesty and ambitions. Now, six months later, we remain just as inspired and just as committed to supporting you along the way.
So here’s to steady progress, to keeping that nest egg growing and to hoping, dreaming and planning.
