Supporting Children Through Education and Nutrition

At Comhar Linn INTO Credit Union, we believe in making a meaningful difference in the communities we support, both at home and abroad. We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Ngaara School Meals, an Irish-registered charity that provides daily school meals to children attending Ngaara Primary School in Mbarara, Uganda.

Ngaara School Meals is a volunteer-led charity with a clear mission: to ensure that every child attending Ngaara Primary School receives a nutritious daily meal. The programme currently supports 379 children, helping to remove one of the barriers that can prevent children from attending school regularly and reaching their full potential.

Why This Partnership Matters

Access to nutritious food plays a vital role in a child's ability to learn, concentrate and thrive. Through its school meals programme, Ngaara School Meals provides daily lunches and morning porridge, creating a reliable foundation that supports attendance, educational engagement and long-term opportunities for pupils and their families.

What particularly impressed us about Ngaara School Meals is its commitment to transparency and impact. The charity is run entirely by volunteer trustees, with the vast majority of funds directed straight to the school meals programme. Careful oversight, local purchasing and regular reporting help ensure that donations make a tangible difference where they are needed most.
