Appeals Process

A member has the right to appeal any decision of a credit control officer to the CEO, to the Board approved decision-making authority, and ultimately to the Appeals Committee, in that order.

The Appeals Committee will be appointed by the Board.

The credit control officer, decision-making authority who made the original decision will be excluded from the decision-making process in any subsequent appeal.

The committee will be provided with the same information that was provided to the credit control officer by the member.

The committee will be given (in writing) the reasons for the decision of the credit control officer and/or the decision-making authority.

The committee will evaluate the decision to satisfy itself that the case was handled fairly.

If the committee decides to over-turn the decision of the credit control officer and/or the decision-making authority, it will clearly record the reasons for that decision in its minutes.
